Three videos of the rally in Los Angeles yesterday (March 17), with durations of 1:10, 0:58, and 0:08, including a clip of Helga Aguayo's speech to the crowd.
The rally yesterday was huge, an estimated 40-50,000 people, nothing like the small numbers the media is giving. I didn't take very many pictures, but here are three short videos to give you a feel for what it was like. Thank you, ANSWER, for giving us all this opportunity to make our voices heard!
The first video (1:10) is a view of the front part of the crowd passing by. Keep in mind that it show only a small percentage of the total march. There were several chants going on simultaneously, and numerous drums added a wonderful energy to the crowds.
Helga Aguayo's speech was passionate and moving, a wonderful testimony for her husband, Agustin, who went AWOL because he couldn't conscience being forced to return to Iraq. Unfortunately, I only was able to tape a small portion of her words.
This one is short, taken from a pillar in front of the CNN building. We were attempting to get a view of the crowds that stretched farther than we could see. Apparently the back of the march was still at the starting point when the front section reached the stage.
